what is the barn capacity?
The Barn can hold up to 130 guests inside, but perfect for 50-100 guests. For larger weddings, accessory tents may be rented from outside vendors to provide more occupancy.
Can I bring my own horse for the wedding?
Yes! We have an area in the stables dedicated for this purpose. Ask and we can provide details!
Can I bring in my own decor?
Yes! It is your special date and we encourage you to decorate the event barn and outdoor areas in a manner that reflects your style and personality. You can also rent decor from our online catalog. Our inventory of unique decor features great pieces to incorporate at your ceremony, cocktail hour or reception.
Is venue insurance required?
We do require our clients to purchase general liability insurance. We will give you a contact for this.
Can I bring in my own alcohol and/or bartenders?
Yes! If you would like to serve beer, wine, champagne, wine alternatives, and malt-based beverages, you can either hire a catering service that maintains the state-required two or three way license, or you can obtain a temporary beer and wine permit and hire a licensed bartender to serve the alcohol.
If you would like to serve liquor, you will be required to hire a catering company that holds a three way liquor license.
What is required to book a date?
We require a $500 deposit and signed rental contract to book a date. We will send the contract via email.
How long do i have the venue the day of my wedding?
You have access to the entire property for the weekend which includes barn access Friday starting at 1pm (access to the cabin starting at 4pm) until Sunday at 11am. We can also accommodate Friday, Sunday or weekday weddings, just ask!
Can I hire my own DJ?
Yes! We do ask that you abide by the conditions of our Special Exception approval issued by the Brown County Board of Zoning Appeals that requires the music to be reasonably amplified, to end by 10:30pm and that all guests depart by 11pm.
Can I rent the cabin for additional nights?
Yes! We have the cabin listed on Airbnb and any additional nights needed for the cabin can be rented based on the current daily rate.
How do I schedule a time to look at the venue?
All tours are by appointment only. Please email us to set up a time to visit. We'd love to meet you!
Can I hire my own caterer?
Yes! The Barn at Mount Liberty has a caterer receiving area which includes a prep counter, a refrigerator and a hand washing sink. You may choose from our curated list of preferred catering services or provide your own catering service. If you provide your own service, a license must be obtained from the county health department or the Indiana State Department of Health, as required by law, and provided to The Barn at Mount Liberty no less than 30 days prior to the event.
Can I get access to the barn a day or two in advance to decorate?
You will have access to the barn starting at 1pm the day before your event. If you'd like earlier access, you can rent the cabin at the daily rate.
Are there restroom facilities in the barn? Are they handicap accessible?
Yes, there are 2 restrooms inside the barn with one being handicap accessible.
