Our Barn is temperature controlled to accommodate events year-round. It is perfect for smaller, intimate weddings and events with up to 130 guests. The Barn sits on 110 acres in beautiful Brown County just 15 minutes from Columbus, Indiana and 10 minutes from the town of Nashville.

our venue coordinator

With each wedding package our Venue Coordinator's services are included. These services are:

 

  • Connect with you prior to your event by sending a planning questionnaire and scheduling a phone call to better understand your plans, priorities, and vision for the day.

  • Arrange any venue visits for you if you want to visit prior to your event.

  • Review your event timeline.

  • Work with you on the barn floor plan and get the floor plan setup prior to your arrival. 

  • Serve as primary point of contact for you and vendors prior to your event. 

  • Maintain venue equipment and report and coordinate repairs as needed.

  • Check restroom facilities day-of and make sure the facilities are stocked and clean. 

  • Check in with all vendors as they arrive and set-up.

frequently asked questions

what is the barn capacity?

The Barn can hold up to 130 guests inside, but perfect for 50-100 guests. For larger weddings, accessory tents may be rented from outside vendors to provide more occupancy.

Is the barn temperature controlled?

Yes! The barn is equipped with heating and cooling.

Can I hire my own caterer?

Yes! The Barn at Mount Liberty has a caterer receiving area which includes a prep counter, a refrigerator and a hand washing sink. You may choose from our curated list of preferred catering services or provide your own food. 

Can I hire my own DJ?

Yes! We do ask that you abide by the conditions of our Special Exception approval issued by the Brown County Board of Zoning Appeals that requires the music to be reasonably amplified, to end by 10pm and that all guests depart by 11pm.

Can I rent the cabin for additional nights after the wedding?

Yes! Any additional nights for the cabin can be rented for $250/night.

What is required to book a date?

We require a $500 deposit and signed rental contract to book a date. We will send the contract via email. 

How long do i have the venue the day of my wedding?

For a weekend wedding (Friday or Saturday), you'd have access starting at 1pm the day before the wedding until 11am the day after. For Sunday and weekday weddings, you'd have access starting at 1pm the day of the event until 11am the day after.

Can I bring my own horse for the wedding?

Yes! We have an area in the stables dedicated for this purpose. Ask and we can provide details!

Can I get access to the barn a day or two in advance to decorate?

For Friday or Saturday weddings you will have access to the barn starting at 1pm the day before your event. If you'd like earlier access, you can rent the cabin for an additional $250 per night. For Sunday weddings, you have access the day of the wedding starting at 1pm.

Are there restroom facilities in the barn? Are they handicap accessible?

Yes, there are 2 restrooms inside the barn with one being handicap accessible.

How do I schedule a time to look at the venue?

All tours are by appointment only. Please email us to set up a time to visit. We'd love to meet you!

Can I bring in my own decor?

Yes! It is your special date and we encourage you to decorate the event barn and outdoor areas in a manner that reflects your style and personality. You can also use decor from our decor barn. Our inventory of unique decor features great pieces to incorporate at your ceremony, cocktail hour or reception.

Is venue insurance required?

We do require our clients to purchase general liability insurance. We will give you a contact for this.

Can I have a bar?

Yes! You can either hire Mount Liberty Farms to serve your beer, wine, champagne, wine alternatives, and malt-based beverages or you can hire a mobile bar service that maintains the state-required license. We have plenty we recommend!

If you would like to serve liquor, you will be required to hire a company from our vendor list that holds a three way liquor license.
